Our friend Sharif started The Vegan Baking Company with a lot of experience and a big dream

Sharif hit the ground running with the Vegan Baking Company. His experience in retail and manufacturing worked perfectly to create a set of delicious products that stores and consumers loved. He quickly got into stores nationwide, and immediately built a business with lots of potential.

Sharif was ready to grow, and had two options

To grow, Sharif had two options, he could continue to sell directly to stores, and hire someone to help him with the additional burden of orders, customers, and payments, or he could sell to a distributor that would manage things for him for a share of his margins.

but, he couldn’t afford to hire

Sharif didn’t have enough money to hire someone, and it ended up hurting him. Instead of improving his business step-by-step, he couldn’t dedicate the time he needed to his manufacturing and new customer acquisition.

and distributors asked for too much

At the same time he tried to prepare for distributors, but he never believed it was the right option, not only because he didn’t want to give up his direct margins, but also because he knew he couldn’t afford to lose his greatest assets: his relationship with his buyers, and the uniqueness of his products in the marketplace.

We created komida to give all manufacturers a third option

With komida, you now have the opportunity to grow your business organically, so that your profits grow with you, and you are ready for distributors. Instead of feeling busy with a few dozen stores, you can sell to many hundreds of stores without needing to hire anyone, and feel in complete control. As you grow store-by-store, you will also be preparing your business for distributors, so that when you are ready, you can use them when they make sense.

We wished Sharif could have had komida, and vowed... NEVER AGAIN!

Unfortunately, just like The Vegan Baking Company, hundreds of companies fail each year because they have no options for growth. We created komida because we never want to see it happen again.

Building a specialty food company is difficult, and even with a lot of help it is a tremendous challenge, but we have created komida so that you can succeed where others have failed. After all, food is personal.
